Geneva and Lausanne enjoy growing popularity with international media, an article in today’s edition of Le Temps reports. While the Huffington Post recently ranked Lausanne as one of “Europe’s 11 most underrated small cities” and compared it to San Francisco because of its charming position on the hilly banks of Lake Geneva, the New York Times is fascinated by Geneva’s Quartier des Bains, which it defines “Geneva’s own little SoHo”. And for French magazine L’Express, Lausanne is “a concentrate of audacity and contemporary creation”.
Best known for its beautiful lake and scenic mountains, Lausanne has much more to offer with its revolutionary concept stores, its charming museums and the futuristic Rolex Learning Center. Similarly, Geneva is not just banks, international organizations and luxury watches. According to the New York Times, its gallery- and museum-studded Quartier des Bains has emerged as “one of the liveliest and most innovative contemporary art districts in Europe”.
