Merck, soci\u00e9t\u00e9 leader en science et technologie, vient d\u2019annoncer la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019iOnctura, une spin-off d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019immuno-oncologie. Bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve, iOnctura est form\u00e9e autour de deux actifs du portefeuille de R&D en soins de sant\u00e9 de Merck, et de trois autres actifs du Cancer Research Technology (CRT), la branche commerciale de Cancer Research UK. Merck g\u00e9rera l\u2019investissement et sera repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e dans le conseil d\u2019administration d\u2019iOnctura.<\/p>\n

Le but d\u2019iOnctura est de d\u00e9velopper un pipeline d\u2019actifs pouvant cibler et moduler certains m\u00e9canismes qui stimulent l\u2019immunosuppression d\u2019une tumeur. \u00ab\u00a0Notre objectif est de moduler les principaux coupables de l\u2019immunosuppression dans le micro-environnement de la tumeur afin de maximiser le potentiel th\u00e9rapeutique des inhibiteurs de points de contr\u00f4le pour les patients\u00a0\u00bb, a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 Catherine Pickering, cofondatrice et PDG d\u2019iOnctura, dans un communiqu\u00e9 de presse<\/a>. Ce type d\u2019immunosuppression est l\u2019une des raisons pour lesquelles certains traitements ne fonctionnent pas pour certains patients.<\/p>\n

Des programmes prometteurs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Avec le soutien de Merck et CRT, iOnctura a d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des programmes tr\u00e8s prometteurs. Une collaboration de recherche a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 initi\u00e9e avec CRT Discovery Laboratories.
