Following these concerns, the Swiss Central Union for the Blind (<a href=\"http:\/\/snab.ch\/en\/snab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UCBA<\/a>) launched the <a href=\"http:\/\/acustica-watches.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACUSTICA<\/a> project. Stephan M\u00f6rker, head of the project, explains in a <a href=\"http:\/\/ucba.ch\/fileadmin\/pdfs_fr\/communiques\/Communique_presse_fr_ACUSTICA_2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a> that the quality problems regularly annoyed them, whether it be with the voice synthesis, the case, the bracelet or the performance of the battery.<\/p>\n<p>ACUSTICA is the first Swiss watch made for this target audience. The watch was developed in Biel, in the canton of Bern, by Swiss watchmaking companies and designed by a Neuch\u00e2tel designer. For now, 1000 pieces have been produced. The main objective is to improve the quality of life of people who do not see well, who don\u2019t see anything at all or do not see and hear.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3817\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.ggba.swiss\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/ACUSTICA-beide_Uhren-2017_01-4-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/> <em>Watches ACUSTICA \u00a9UCBA<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The watch\u2019s special features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ACUSTICA vibrates, speaks with a speech synthesis processor in four languages \u200b\u200b(French, German, English and Italian), is rechargeable, has a battery that can last a month without needing to be charged, and disposes of a quartz movement. It has the particularity of accentuating contrasts, allowing the visually impaired to read time more precisely.
