Switzerland is the best country in the world for developing, attracting and retaining business talent, according to the second edition of IMD’s World Talent Report released on Wednesday.
The IMD World Talent Report 2015 includes a ranking covering 61 countries which is structured according to three criteria – investment/development, appeal and readiness – derived from a much broader range of indicators. Switzerland has shown itself to be a leading performer across all factors, thus earning the top spot followed by Denmark and Luxembourg.
According to Professor Arturo Bris, Director of IMD’s World Competitiveness Center, top-ranking countries show a great level of agility in their capacity to shape policies that preserve their talent pipeline. “In this regard, none is more agile than Switzerland, which has shown itself to be the most talent-competitive country in the world for nine of the past 10 years”, he said in a press release.
Switzerland has consistently achieved a positive balance between encouraging local talent and tapping into top talent from abroad. Professor Arturo Bris thinks that other countries, including many of the world’s leading economic powers, would learn valuable lessons from understanding how the Swiss manage their talent pool.
